Huntington Theater presents, K-I-S-S-I-N-G, a co-production with the Front Porch Arts Collective at The Calderwood Pavilion in the South End and runs through Sunday, April 2.
The play from Boston native, Lenelle Moïse, is a heart-opening story that according to the online description will appeal to “fans of David Bowie, bell hooks, and fireworks by the Charles”. Unsure what to make of that but I do like Bowie. The story focuses on Lala an artist who uses the back of pizza boxes as her canvas. A sweet and sticky summer inspires her to romance Dani, a budding feminist – and Albert, his smooth-talking twin. What could possibly go wrong?
Sergio and I have plans to check out this play next week. Tickets are incredibly reasonable, making this a great option for a date or night out with friends. I highly recommend reserving time after to grab a drink at The Kartal to extend the evening out and to discuss the show.

It has been awhile since I’ve included a photo of the very handsome, Trevor LaPaglia, and I think you’ll agree that he makes for a very worthy Furry Friday.
Each Friday morning I post a riddle to get you to think outside the box and exercise your brain. If you are stumped, share it with a friend or colleague and see if you can figure out the answer together. Leave your answer in the comment section.
This week’s riddle comes from the NPR Sunday Puzzle. It was submitted to the show by Henri Picciotto, of Berkeley, CA and it’s a tough one so grab a friend if you need help.
This week’s riddle: Name a branch of scientific study and then drop the last letter. When you rearrange the remaining letters, you will be able to name two subjects that this branch of science studies. What branch of science is it and what are the two words you can make from rearranging the letters?
I’ll approve responses later in the day to give people a chance to respond without seeing any spoilers.
In January, LGBTQ Night Life events announced they would be opening a new bar in Boston called Dani’s Queer Bar. Late last night Universal Hub cited an article in the Simmons Voice that said Dani’s Queer Bar will open in the space formerly known as the Pour House. While no opening date was confirmed, it is believed it is only weeks away.
While the bar will welcome everyone, LGBTQ Night Life has said of Dani’s, “Our mission is to open Boston’s first Queer Bar for women and non-binary LGBTQ+ community members who feel like we have no place.” I hope this comes to pass. It would be great to see a Lesbian Bar open in such a prominent location.
The address for the upcoming Dani’s Queer Bar is 907 Boylston Street, Boston, MA, 02115.

The lack of clothing may make this tough to date. I can’t help but feel like this is Palm Springs in the 1980s but that is a total guess on my part. Anyone else care to share insights into when / where this may have been taken?
