Slutcracker opens on December 5th
One of Boston’s more notorious holiday traditions is the R-rated burlesque show, The Slutcracker. The satirical version of the classic ballet has a naughty edge and draws a far more rowdy crowd than those attending Boston Ballet’s production at the Opera House. Sergio and I attended this show a couple years ago and had a good laugh. I would strongly recommend making a night of it by planning dinner or drinks, but arrive with plenty of time if you go with a large group on a weekend since it is general seating.
The Slutcracker is for adults only (18+) and opens on Friday, December 5th. Performances run through New Year’s Eve, but check their calendar in the link below since they don’t have performances every night. All performances are at the Somerville Theater in Davis Square. You may purchase tickets here.
Realm health and fitness tips from Kyle
Exercising doesn’t have to take place in a gym. Remaining active can be tough in the winter but Boston has a lot of options for outdoor activities in the colder months. This is a reminder that The Frog Pond in the Boston Common is open for ice skating 7-days a week making it an active-date destination.
Bring your family, or bring your friends for a few fun laps on the pond and embrace the winter season while burning up to 700 calories per hour! Don’t live near the Boston Common? Check out what public skating rinks are nearest you.

Mona Lisa Monday
I bet you had no idea that I had such an extensive collection of this lady. I like to refer to this first one as “the Mona selfie”.
Today is World AIDS day
Despite amazing advances there remains no cure and new infections continue to be reported. Today is world AIDS day; make a commitment to know your status if you’ve not been tested recently and encourage your friends to do the same.
Tonight the Prudential Building in Boston will be lit red to honor and remember those we have lost and raise awareness. The lighting will also be used to mark the launch of the 30th AIDS Walk Boston. The ceremony will take place at The Shops at the Prudential Center (by the Belvedere Avenue) from 4:30 – 6:30 PM.
AIDS Service Organizations (ASO) around the country and the world, still need your support. Here in Boston, our largest ASO is The AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts. Visit their website, make a donation or volunteer.
Sign language: i’m lovin’ it
Please tell me that someone modified this sign and it isn’t on NYC buses driving around the city. Regardless (or should I say irregardless) i’m lovin’ it McDonalds.
Much thanks to Julian for sharing.

Saturday night video: Cure for homophobia
I have previously shared this very Not Safe For Work video and like to re-post it from time to time because I think there is some truth to this very funny video, which parodies the pharmaceutical advertisements you see on television today.
Small business Saturday
For all you shopaholics take a moment and think about where your patronage not only will find you that perfect gift, but also support your local businesses. This includes everyone turning to the web to make purchases. Think twice before visiting sites like Amazon.com and consider calling or ordering gifts from local, small businesses.
