Cheers to earls Boston treats

Cheers to earls kitchen + bar

Cheers to earls kitchen + bar, an upscale, casual restaurant with sixty-five locations in the US and Canada. The will open their first location in the Northeast in Somerville’s Assembly Row on Friday, September 12th.

Today I received this lovely box of goodies from earls (sometimes being a bloggah has perks).  The margarita that was included I put to good use at the end of my day.  I’m not familiar with earls but based on their welcome box I’m already a fan and look forward to their opening next month. earls boston

Realm health and fitness tips with Kyle

Realm Health Fitness tips KyleIt has been proven that posture not only plays a large role in how we are perceived by others, but how we perceive ourselves. Stretching and exercise can help your posture; we all tend to slump, making our shoulders roll forward, bellies stick out, and lower backs sore.

Here is a sample back and chest routine that can help with posture. By “pulling” more than “pushing” your back will get tighter and your chest will loosen up and actually seem bigger. Try it for a couple 4-6 weeks and see how you feel!

Pre and post workout be sure to stretch your pecs, anterior delt and traps.  This will help relax the muscles and utilize them more efficiently. Hold each position for :45-1:30.

Work Out

  • 3×12 Leg lifts
  • 3×12 Barbell chest press(Push)
  • 3×12 Bent over barbell row(Pull)
  • 3×12 Lat pull down machine(Pull)
  • 3×12 Core roll out
  • 3×12 close grip seated row(Pull)
  • 3×12 Reverse Flies Dumbbells (Pull)
  • 3×12 decline chest press (Push)
  • 3×12 Plank

Bounce public art at BCA Plaza

Liz NofzigerDespite all the gentrification in the South End, I love that a strong arts community remains.  I firmly believe that the soul of the South End is tied to the fate of the artists who live and or work in this neighborhood. Their personality is still present despite the million dollar condos that seem to be for sale everywhere.

A great example of this is the current public art display in the BCA Plaza by Liz Nofziger entitled Bounce. BCA resident artist, Nofziger, has installed three conjoined ping-pong tables that are custom engineered to form an over sized ‘communal’ ping pong court. The public is encouraged to play – paddles and balls are available to all.

Boston food truck schedule

Boston SoWa Food TrucksFood trucks in Boston are certainly popular, but remembering their schedules can be tough.  The city of Boston has set up a website that tells you where every registered food truck is each day of the week, and it allows you to search by food truck, neighborhood and or date.
