“I do” support marriage equality

Sergio – Boston, MA supports Marriage Equality

Last month I wrote about The Seattle Times “I do” social media campaign supporting the Marriage Equality referendum on their ballot in November. To show my support, each day this week I will post photos of people posing with The Seattle Times “I do” sign.

Will you speak out and show your support?

Oh dear

This reminds me of that rule in fashion so often ignored, “just because they make it in your size doesn’t mean you should wear it.”

These two classy Bostonians (actually Cantabrigians) still look great.  How I wish they were a gay couple who purchased the condo next door. I can imagine evenings playing scrabble and long, serious discussions about which designer on Project Runway we like best.

Are babies born naked?

Periodically, my sister emails me conversations she has with her kids.  Last week she sent the following email:

AUSTIN:  Mommy, when you’re born are you naked or do you have clothes on?

MOM: Naked, Austin. Everyone is naked when they are first born.

AUSTIN:  Giggle. Giggle… Isn’t it so funny that everyone is born naked? Is it awkward?

Wake up

That’s not coffee!

Scott Herman

Scott Herman – NH native

Glum that the weekend is rapidly coming to an end? Me too so I thought I’d post a photo of Scott Herman, who is from New England.  Not only is he incredibly easy on the eyes, but he’s a great LGBT ally.

Tempest Home Video: volume 3 Boston

The way this guy was jumping, twirling and scaling walls made me wonder if he was channeling Spiderman. I wish I could do this, but I’d probably end up on a stretcher going to the hospital.

Where do you get a manicure?

Nobody will be surprised to read that this nail salon is in San Francisco.

Steve Frayne

Steve Frayne may be the most famous magician / illusionist I’ve never heard of before.  Frayne is the U.K.’s version of David Blaine.  Perhaps best known for walking across the Thames, I loved this new video.

Take a moment to watch this amazing video

If you loved that check out this.

Cowboys.com

My favorite story of the week isn’t even a story that I posted on my blog. According to a post from Izzoiz.com, The Dallas Cowboys lost the bid for the domain Cowboys.com so when fans click on that site the will see:cowboys.com

Majority of Americans favor same sex marriage

WBURSource: PFLAG

According to a Gallup poll, the percentage of Americans who believe marriage equality should be recognized by the law has increased dramatically from approximately 28% in 1996 to approximately 54% of the general population in 2011.

An ABC News/Washington Post poll reinforces this trend by showing that the strength of support for marriage equality outstrips the strength of opposition. Today, 39% of Americans strongly support marriage equality while only 32% strongly oppose it.

It will be interesting to see how same sex marriage ballot initiatives fare this November in the four states featured in the above graphic.
