Nonstop flights from Boston to Copenhagen

travel, gay travel, gay scandinavia

Boston Boys hanging out in Copenhagen

Last month SAS started the first nonstop flights between Boston and Copenhagen making it the first airline to offer such service to Scandinavia. However, starting in May there will be a bit more competition when Norwegian Air Shuttle, a low-cost European airline, starts non-stop service from Boston to both Copenhagen, Denmark and Oslo, Norway.

About Copenhagen: Slightly smaller in population than Boston, Copenhagen is Denmark’s capital and largest city with a metro population of 1.2m Danes. Copenhagen is an incredibly progressive city and if you were to travel there I would suggest you bookmark visitcopenhagen.com/gaycopenhagen.

Copenhagen Pride: Contemplating a visit to the gay-friendly capital of Denmark? Take note that their Pride festivities run from August 16 – 21, and fares are approximately $1,300 for nonstop round trip service. For more information about Copenhagen Pride like their Facebook page, here.

For nonstop service between Boston and Copenhagen contact SAS and Norwegian Air Shuttle (nonstop service starts in May 2016).

Do you work to live or live to work?

work life balanceI rarely write about my work on this blog but recently a friend who happens to be a former manager of mine shared this post on LinkedIn, Don’t Fool Yourself – There Is No Work/Life BalanceThe article on LinkedIn clearly resonates with people having been viewed more than 280,000 times.

I think the author is spot on when she writes, “How do you know when your priorities have truly gone awry? I believe it’s when you’ve reached a point where the urgency to react to something is disproportionate to its priority.”

I make a conscious effort not to reply to emails on weeknights or weekends. There are of course exceptions but generally speaking it is a rule that I stick to. I’m curious if you have any hard & fast rules about work to try to help you keep things in perspective? Do you think you have a good work / life balance?

BosGuy brain teaser

riddle, brain teaserEach Friday morning I post a riddle to get you to think outside the box and exercise your brain.  If you are stumped, share it with a friend or colleague and see if you can figure out the answer together.

I’ll confirm answers in the afternoon so don’t worry if you don’t see your comment posted right away.

I want to give everyone a chance to guess.

This week’s riddle: You have 2 dogs, how can you give one away, yet keep both?

Kava Neo Taverna temptations

Restaurant, Boston, Greek

312 Shawmut Avenue – South End, Boston

Kava Neo Taverna is a neighborhood Greek restaurant that is patiently waiting for the city to allow it to open in their new home located on the corner of Union Park and Shawmut Avenue in the South End across from the South End Buttery.

Over the past couple months I have been able to meet and talk to the team behind this new restaurant, that I will admit I’m excited to have opening. They were gracious enough to send me a few photos of some of the items you can expect to find on their menu when they open.  Think of this as a feast for your eyes and something to tempt you until they open.

Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves with rice)

Small Plate Options: Patates Lemonates (potatoes, lemon, oregano and olive oil);

Throwback Thursday

BosGuy, TBT, Throwback ThursdayBack in the early and mid-90s I called Atlanta home. It was a wonderful time to be there, and I have many fond memories of that time. This photo was actually from one of the many trips we would make to what I fondly refer to as The Redneck Riviera, better known to most as Destin, FL.
