July 4th celebrations in Boston

Fourth of July in BostonLater this week the Boston Pops and the City of Boston will host one of the country’s largest 4th of July celebrations in the United States. This will also be the first time the national spotlight will be on the city of Boston since the bombings in April so expect tighter than normal security.

Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular Event Schedule

If you are planning to enjoy the celebrations down along the Charles River have a great time.  I will be hightailing it out of the city of Boston and heading to Provincetown.

What will you be doing to celebrate Independence Day?

Who cares.

Nancy PelosiAbsolutely loved US Representative and House Minority Leader, Nancy Pelosi’s, response when she was asked earlier this week about conservative wing nut, Michele Bachmann’s intense denunciation of the US Supreme Court’s historic rulings in favor of gay marriage.

Did you miss Pelosi’s awesome dis? You can check it out here.

Dick of the week

Dan CathyI’m actually quite happy that I’ve not felt compelled to publish a “Dick of the week” post in quite a while but then I read about Dan Cathy. You may recall Dan Cathy. He is the loudmouth, conservative CEO of Chick-fil-A who last July caused a stir with his comments about how the public’s growing acceptance of marriage equality was, “inviting God’s judgement on our nation.

What a dick, right? Well after the US Supreme Court’s decision this past week, he couldn’t help himself and felt compelled to Tweet about it. Interestingly, the Tweet was quickly deleted – clearly Mr. Cathy doesn’t seem to understand how the Internet works. What a dumb ass.

How do you like my duck
