The 30 ultimate Madonna singles
In honor of the fact that this weekend marks the 30th anniversary of Madonna’s first hit song, “Holiday”, Boston Globe writer, Scott Kearnan, has written a tribute post, The 30 Ultimate Madonna Singles.
It would be tough for me to decide what would be in my top 30 list but the very fact that she has more than 30 legitimate hits is a testament to her longevity and success as a performing artist. I can’t think of a significant milestone in my life that occurred without Madonna’s music somewhere there in the background; it is probably why she’ll go down as my favorite artist of all time.

#MySexLifeInMovieTitles
The Huffington Post wrote that the Twitter hashtag #mysexlifeinmovietitles was trending all last weekend.
The article, Dating after Divorce: Twitter hashtag will make you feel better about your sex life, was definitely a funny read and it got me to thinking what movie might best sum up your sex life? NOTE: Hey Mom – you may stop reading this post now…
Here were a few of the Tweets from last weekend that made me laugh.

2013 GLBT Fall fundraisers
The spring and fall are when the majority of large scale formal fundraisers take place throughout the US and Boston is no exception. The following are some of the largest and most fun GLBT fundraisers in Boston. Feel free to share in the comments section below any charitable events I may have missed that you would like to share.
ARTcetera may be my all-time favorite GLBT fundraiser in Boston. This event draws art lovers and enthusiasts as well as many artists who donate their work for auction to raise money for the AIDS Action Committee of MA. The event is hosted every other year but it went dark for a couple of years while AIDS Action rethought the event and in 2011 ARTcetera was relaunched. More details here: ARTcetera 2013 – Saturday, October 5th
This event raises money for GLAD; not to be confused with GLAAD. The Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders have been fighting for and advancing GLBT civil liberties since it was founded in the late 1970s. This year’s recipient of GLAD’s Spirit of Justice award will be Chief Justice Margaret H. Marshall. The sitting Chief Justice who presided over the landmark Goodridge decision that was the first to rule (10 years ago) same sex marriage was legal and must be recognized. More details here: GLAD Spirit of Justice – Friday, October 25th
One of the GLBT’s largest fundraisers in Boston each year is the HRC dinner gala, this year hosted on Saturday, November 9th. At the moment, the website for this event is still a bit bare so if you have questions about the program, I’d encourage you to email dinner@hrcboston.org. More details here: HRC New England Dinner – Saturday, November 9th
Suddenly it makes sense
Earlier this week Joe. My. God. blog noted that wrestling will be reinstated for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo. Pity this won’t be at Sochi if for no other reason than I’d like to see a bunch of homphobic, sexually repressed Russians cheering on their guy as he simulates gay sex wrestles.
Sergio is off to Brazil
Sergio is flying down to Brazil today to help his family, and he will be gone for about a a week. I am happy he can make this quick visit, but I’m still doing my best not to mope around the house. I always hate saying good bye to him and feel like I miss him most in the hours leading up to and following his departure, which is kind of odd because this wasn’t the case when we first met and he was a flight attendant. However, since leaving the travel industry, I’ve become accustomed to having him around and his presence will be missed. 😦
Margaret Cho in Boston Nov 6th
Margaret Cho’s tour is in high gear now and will be rolling into Boston in early November. Tickets have been on sale for a bit now so if you are interested in seeing Ms. Cho when she comes to Boston the you may want to place your order before her show sells out.
Wednesday, November 6th 8:00 PM Wilbur Theatre
Boston Spirit Magazine has a nice interview of Margaret Cho talking about life and her current tour in their Sept/Oct magazine issue on pgs. 62-63.
#BlurredBynes parody video
The crazy drag queen trio that brought you the iconic “Boy Is A Bottom“ has just posted another music video on YouTube, and this time they’re singing about Amanda Bynes.
Willam and Detox of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” along with Vicky Vox, also known as DWV, have re-twerked Robin Thicke’s summer anthem “Blurred Lines” in a parody of Amanda Bynes’ Tweets.
