Fascination Friday tonight at Jacques

gay, kink, fetishFASCINATION is a monthly gear/ fetish/ kink night at Jacques Cabaret from 9-12 every 2nd Monday and every 4th Friday of the month.

DJ Colby Drasher spins dark electronic, rock, techno, ambient, and deep house, and Michael Flowers shares visual projections highlighting both original footage as well as scenes from vintage kink cinema. Although the event is leather inspired, all are welcome and the event is gender inclusive with a cross section of Boston fetish culture (rubber, sports gear, bondage, S&M, pup play).

Fenway Health: The Vacation PrEP Study

Fenway Health, gay health, PrEP, Truvada, sexual health studyAre you planning a vacation for later this summer?  If so, you may be a candidate for an important new study at Fenway Health.

As we all know, many gay/bi men engage in risky sexual behavior when away and on vacation. By joining The Fenway’s Vacation Study, you may receive PrEP for the duration of your upcoming vacation plus an additional two weeks. Your participation will help test the feasibility and acceptability of shorter-term PrEP.

I think it is important for the LGBT community to participate in studies specific to our health, and I hope by sharing this you may consider participating or will share this with friends who might. For more information and to see if you are eligible please call 617.927.6384 or email vacation@fenwayhealth.org.

I want to dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Bartender (bärˌtendərnoun)
Definition: a person who mixes and serves drinks at a bar.
Example: Be kind and always tip your bartender.

Transatlantic flights from Boston are getting more affordable

travel, handsome, hunkInternational travel is getting both easier and more affordable if you live in Boston.  Logan will soon have the more low-cost trans-Atlantic flights than any other airport in the United States and industry analysts say they expect the growth of low-cost carriers in Boston to continue.

Analysts cite a confluence of global and regional forces that work in our favor, from low oil and fuel prices and Logan’s proximity to Europe to the strength of the economy of Greater Boston, which has ample supply of business travelers and younger flyers interested in seeing the world on the cheap.

For example, discount airline, Thomas Cook, is offering introductory non-stop fares from Boston to Manchester, England for $312 when they start flying to Logan Airport next week, and earlier this month AirBerlin started non-stop flights Boston to Dusseldorf, Germany for $650. Both fares are cheaper than my flight to San Francisco later this month.
