Christina Bianco does diva impressions of Total Eclipse of the Heart

Christina BiancoEarlier this summer Christina Bianco sang Bonnie Tyler’s 1980s hit ‘Total Eclipse Of The Heart‘ at 54 Below – a Midtown cabaret bar in NYC. Unlike past covers you may have heard, Christina sings the Bonnie Tyler hit as nearly 20 different divas. Check it out. She impersonates some divas better than others but I have to give her props.

Doggie YogaEarlier this week this video of this Italian guy and his chihuahua doing yoga was making the rounds.

BosGuy brain teaser

brain teaserEach Friday morning I post a riddle to get you to think outside the box and exercise your brain. If you are stumped, share it with a friend or colleague to see if you can figure it out together.

I’ll confirm answers later in the day so don’t worry if you don’t see your comment posted right away. I want to give everyone a chance.

This weeks riddle:  The paragraph below is most unusual. How quickly can you find out what is so unusual about it? It looks so ordinary you’d think nothing was wrong with it – and in fact, nothing is wrong with it. It is unusual though. Why?

“Gatsby was walking back from a visit down in Branton Hill’s manufacturing district on a Saturday night. A busy day’s traffic had had its noisy run; and with not many folks in sight, His Honor got along without having to stop to grasp a hand, or talk; for a mayor out of City Hall is a shining mark for any politician. And so, coming to Broadway, a booming bass drum and sounds of singing, told of a small Salvation Army unit carrying on amidst Broadway’s night shopping crowds. Gatsby, walking towards that group, saw a young girl, back toward him, just finishing a long, soulful oration … ”

The above passage is taken from the book “Gatsby” written by Ernest Vincent Wright in the late 1930’s

In the news

In the newsNot sure what it says about me and my sense of humor that I nearly cried when I read this.

Ross Matthews: Hello Ross

Ross-MathewsI’ve enjoyed watching comedian, Ross Mathews, since he first appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2001 as “Ross the Intern”.  Since then he has appeared on a variety of television shows, but is most regularly seen on the funny Chelsea Lately show on E TV.

Starting next month Ross Matthews will have his self-titled show, Hello Ross, also on E TV. The show will feature Ross talking about – what else? – but pop culture.  As I said, I’m a fan of this funny guy and if you are too then you may want to check out Metro Source magazine interview of Ross which you can read here.

ABSolutely amazing

GayI try not to make every other post be a photograph of some hunky guy because I know there are a lot of other blogs that do that sort of thing way better than me.  However, I couldn’t resist posting this photo when I saw it on Kevinism’s blog.

What time is it

I love clocksYes, it is juvenile, but I still think this is funny.

NYC in the summah

Weekend in NYCI’m in New York City this evening for a day of meetings that start tomorrow. I love visiting NYC in the middle of the week during the summer.

The city that never sleeps seems to slow down a bit in the summer months, provided you stay away from the tourist traps.  I won’t have much free time on this trip but hope to get over to Hell’s Kitchen tonight for a bite to eat.  Anyone want to suggest where I should go? I was thinking of checking out Boxers on 9th Ave.
