Victory Programs Dinnerfest 2015

Victory Programs, BosGuyLast Sunday Victory Programs hosted their annual Dinnerfest fundraiser at the Red Lantern and true to form this very social event proved to be fun from start to finish.  Passed food and a busy bar helped encourage people to bid on the many restaurant and food-related silent auction items.

Below are some photographs that Sergio snapped on my behalf.

Thank you to everyone who posed for a photograph and my apologies for anyone I wasn’t able to include. If you would like a copy of a photograph, please email me at bosguymail@gmail.com.

Realm health and fitness tips from Kyle

fitness, healthExercise of the week:  The Hollow Body Hold

Do you want abs like a gymnasts? Try the Hollow body hold – it is an essential aspect of any gymnasts training regimen, in that it mimics the body position and basic core integrity needed for handstands and ring movements.

Here’s how to do it.  Start by lying on your back with your legs straight and hands over head – draw in your belly button and make sure your lower back is flat on the ground.

Keep your abs and butt tight – NEVER LET YOUR LOWER BACK “ARCH” OR COME OFF THE FLOOR – and lift your arms off the ground and reach like the picture and point your toes.

To make this more difficult you can lower your arms closer to the ground while maintaining contact with the floor on your lower back.

Try for reps or time for example, 15 reps x 3 sets, or try to beat my time of :45s!

The 32nd Annual MayFair
Sunday, May 3rd, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Boston has a long, proud history of churning out really excellent bands.  Some have gone on to enjoy significant commercial success and many others have gone on to have long, successful careers outside of the mainstream.  Part of the reason so many bands come to Boston is our city’s embrace of music in all its forms.  Next weekend is a good example of what I’m talking about.

Sunday, May 3rd is the 32nd Annual MayFair festival in Harvard Square.  This free, all day event includes an impressive line up of some of Boston’s favorite local acts including The Sheila Divine, Freezepop, Bent Shapes, M’Bolo, Air Traffic Controller, Hallelujah The Hills, Grey Season, the Luxury, Vundabar, Funeral Advantage, Parks, and the Novel Ideas.  All twelve bands will play on two different stages between 12PM and 6PM while various vendors and events take place in Harvard Square. The event is free and open to the public.
