Shower serenade: Blame it on the Bossa Nova
While all of us sing in the shower, I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a music video that takes place in one. Much thanks to Matthew Rettenmund for sharing this on his boyculture blog. I figured this would be a nice post to end the work week as many of us get ready for what looks to be a beautiful summer weekend. For those of you heading to Provincetown for Independence Week have fun.

Vintage gay
What a handsome and happy photo. Any thoughts on when this may have been taken? I’m going to guess late 70s with all that wavy hair action.
I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Tennis player Borna Coric is easy on the eyes
Many of you are unlikely to know who Borna Coric is but this past weekend he upset Roger Federer on grass at the Gerry Weber Open in Germany. With that win, the 21 year old Croat saw his ranking jump to just outside the top 20 (ATP ranking 21). His victory over Federer is all the more impressive when you realize that this is only his second title and his first on grass.
The fact that Borna Coric is so easy on the eyes will only continue to endear him to me. I hope that his recent victory over Roger Federer in Germany provides him with the confidence he will need to have a good run at Wimbledon, which officially starts next week on July 2nd. Until that time enjoy these photos of the handsome 21 year old.
You can bet, I’ll be writing about this guy again. Especially if he keeps winning.

Petition to stop Starbucks from opening in the North End
While I sympathize with the North End and understand their concerns, I don’t know that they can prevent a national chain like Starbucks from opening, but I thought I’d share this video. I hope that if Starbucks does eventually open, local opposition remains and the public continues to support one of the existing family-owned coffee shops and cafes in the North End.
I loved this quote from the video, “We don’t need a company such as them showing the people what it’s not like to be Italian,” says an employee at the Modern bakery.
Temptation Tuesday
Although I’ve featured the handsome Brazilian model of Thiago Zanini before, far be it from me to decline a request from my friend @justgingr who shared this photo with me last month. He makes for the perfect Temptation Tuesday.
