I really love the holiday season and think of this time of year as a bright spot that comes just before a long and cold New England winter. However, not everyone shares my holiday cheer and for many the season is stressful; end of year work obligations, dysfunctional family parties, constant reminders to be cheerful and happy etc… Sometimes it can be hard to feel merry.
I hope this isn’t the case for you, and I want to let everyone know, despite the ongoing political news which I find very depressing, I’m sending out positive thoughts to all and wishes for a wonderful 2017.

With New Year’s Eve just around the corner many people may be contemplating how they can make healthier decisions in 2017. According to a new, comprehensive national health analysis, many Massachusetts residents are already living a pretty healthy lifestyle and much healthier than many of their fellow Americans from other states.
According to the annual America’s Health Rankings report, now in its 27th year, New England is a pretty great place to be. Massachusetts was ranked the second healthiest state in the country, followed by Connecticut at number three and Vermont at number five. Hawaii took first for the fifth year running, and Minnesota rounded out the top five.

I love this fictitious Fisher Price “Happy Hour Playset”, that comes with bar, bar stools and beer bottles. I think my favorite part of this is the face of the bartender who looks like he may very well grow up to be a bartender.
I missed SNL this weekend but the Dunkin Donuts skit with Casey Affleck is on YouTube and it is a hilarious two minute video. Check it out.

Last week the Lebron James cover for Sports Illustrated’s “Sportsperson of the Year” came out and while this normally wouldn’t warrant attention on my part, my brother pointed out that Lebron wore an over sized safety pin for the shoot.
ESPN took notice of the accessory and as well and wrote, “No, James isn’t suffering some sort of wardrobe malfunction. Since last month’s presidential election, the safety pin has become a symbol of solidarity with those Americans who fear they’ll be disenfranchised by a Donald Trump presidency. The pin is intended to show that the wearer is a safe person to turn to.”
Bravo and thank you Lebron James.
