Opus Affair this Monday
Mark your calendar, Opus Affair’s March social takes place Monday, March 24th at Forum in Back Bay at 755 Boylston Street. This month’s Punch Bowl Fund will raise money for one of these three arts charities: Zoe Dance Company, Tramontana, and Massmouth
Opus Affair at Park – Monday, March 24th at 6PM
What is Opus Affair’s Punch Bowl Fund? Think of it as a charitable drinking game where you are invited to contribute $5 (cash) to the fund. In return you recieve a drink ticket for a glass of punch and a ballot to vote for one of three featured arts organizations. At the end of the night, the organization with the most votes will collect the total amount raised that night.
Who is Opus Affair? They are a community of artists and friends who get together each month for cocktails and to chat about the arts scene.

P.O.V. Washington, D.C.
Last week I stayed at the W Washington D.C. in my review I commented on the P.O.V. roof terrace bar and restaurant that features beautiful views of The White House and Washington Monument. While the menu is very limited and the food best described as “okay”, the view and the vibe make it a place better suited for a cocktail and conversation. Unfortunately it was so cold when I was there the patio was enclosed so I’ve included this photograph from Starwood Hotels.
Should you be visiting D.C., skip the grub and come here for an early evening cocktail; the sunset can be beautiful. The subdued lighting facing the Washington Monument has more of a club vibe with the black and red decor where as the black and white checkered flooring and open terrace overlooking the White House has a more casual feel so choose the side you’d like to visit depending on your mood and preferred view.

Support Boston’s late night T service
Two years ago Future Boston Alliance called for Bostonians to come together and bring about a cultural renaissance in the city. One of the most common requests was to have the T run later. Not only does lack of public service at night have a chilling effect on nightlife businesses but it also hurts a workforce that is increasingly operating 24-hours a day.
Future Boston plans on throwing events to encourage late night ridership and supporting the MBTA and they are looking to help raise $35,000 to support the Late Night Service and promote accessibility and access for residents.
If you can’t donate to their crowdfunding campaign, then watch this video and spread the word and encourage others to take advantage of the late night service.
The ‘Stache is Back fundraiser: April 1, 2014

Have fun growing a mustache and support Community Servings’ food and nutrition program then join the party on April 1st at City Table to celebrate the mustache with growers, wanna-be-growers, and all those who support the ‘stache. This rather funny fundraiser goes to a worthy local charity.

Are you unsure of what wines go best with certain cheeses? I am, although I’ve learned a bit through trial and error and also with help over the years from my local cheese, South End Formaggio, and wine shop, Brix South End.
