Fun Home runs through November 24th
I wanted to give a shout out to one of my favorite local theater companies, SpeakEasy Stage, which currently is performing Fun Home. I’ve not had a chance to see this production as work has become fairly intense since I’ve changed roles, but I wanted to give their latest production a shout out and encourage people to show the local theater scene some love by planning a night out to see this production before it closes on Saturday, November 24th.
Tickets remain available for shows and the prices are very reasonable making it a great date night or night out with friends option.

Seaport / North Station ferry service could start soon
The construction boom in the Seaport has created more congestion than city planners anticipated and while there have been some pretty crazy suggestions to help alleviate congestion – like an aerial gondola system – the idea of adding ferry service seems to be gaining traction. A privately funded ferry service to shuttle passengers between the Seaport District and North Station has been proposed and could start in early 2019.
It appears that to make this economically viable the organizer behind the concept is looking for a commitment from several large employers in the Seaport. The other reason for the delay is the dock at Lovejoy Wharf near North Station will not be ready until the end of 2018. Stay tuned because unlike the crazy idea of floating gondolas – this idea has a lot of merit and could significantly cut down on commute time for people coming from north of the city. It would be nice to see the Baker Administration, which likes to talk a good game about investing in infrastructure and claims to be championing creative solutions to mass transit step up to the plate and help make this a reality.
Vintage gay
I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Order your pie from Community Servings today
A local tradition and rather delicious fundraiser is Community Servings’ Pie in the Sky Thanksgiving bake sale, which is currently underway.
The 26th annual pie sale brings together more than 100 of Greater Boston’s most generous chefs, bakers, and caterers to bake and donate thousands of delicious pies that are sold by more than 500 volunteers each year. The proceeds generated from the sale of these delicious pies helps Community Servings fulfill their mission to make and deliver nutritious meals for the critically ill.
If you are traveling out of town this Thanksgiving or you don’t want the temptation of a delicious pie in your house, do what I do and buy a couple of pies and donate them back to Community Servings.
Online sales end Saturday, November 17th so place your order today!

I am fascinated by architecture. This photo shown above from Chandigarh, India is an example of Brutalism architecture – a style I find both fascinating and ugly. If you too like architecture then you should consider adding this London-based architectural photographer, Edmund Sumner’s IG account to your feed. Edmund travels around the globe, photographing the work of emerging young architects’ work.

Vote on November 6th
Few things frustrate me more than people who complain about the current political climate but do nothing to improve it. I wish that Americans followed politics half as close as they follow the Kardashians, but sadly that isn’t the case. It is for this reason, I believe we have a reality ‘star’ as our current President.
Tuesday, November 6th is election day in all 50 states. If you are registered but don’t know where to go or if you didn’t register but want to change that so you can vote in the next election visit: vote.org.
