Boston’s Ocean Prime is serving $1 oysters all day today to celebrate

Apparently today is National Oyster Day and to celebrate number of Boston area restaurants are serving $1 oysters all day. The gorgeous photo is courtesy of the Boston Ocean Prime restaurant, that told me about this great excuse to enjoy your favorite bivalves earlier this week. I wanted to encourage you to stop by the restaurant should you be in the area and enjoy their $1 oysters.

Earlier this summer EaterBoston also created a map of places you can get $1 oysters in their June post The Ultimate $1 Oyster Guide for Summer 2016.

#ImWithCHER

politics, Cher, Hillary Clinton, ProvincetownPerhaps you heard the collective gasp followed by a squeal of delight when it was announced that Hillary Clinton would return to Provincetown for another fundraiser, this time alongside pop icon Cher. Hillary’s fundraising stop with Cher is scheduled for August 21st from 1-3PM. If you have a boatload of money to donate you can see her but at the time I was writing this post the minimum donation available to get a ticket was $2,700.  This makes me still #FeelTheBern but like Sarah Silverman said it is time to stop being ridiculous.

Cher and Hillary ClintonCher has been incredibly vocal about her dislike of Donald Trump repeatedly using the  icon to refer to the Republican Presidential nominee and calling him a con-man. Actually she has used much stronger language, but I’ll leave that to your imagination. Her denunciations led to a rather creative take on Clinton’s campaign slogan and a website created by a fan of both Hillary and Cher.

Word of the day: Cut

Furry Friday Indpendence DayI like to think of my blog as an important, educational site that can help you expand your vocabulary.  Today’s vocabulary word is Cut.

Cut (/kət/noun
Definition: A man who is circumcised.
Example: Using the term ‘cut’ provides a more accurate description of what many Americans do to male genitalia than the more clinical term ‘circumcised’.

Yesterday boston.com published several renderings of the new global headquarters GE is building and will move into in 2017/2018. The two existing brick buildings that originally housed the NECCO candy company will soon be home to 800+ employees. More renderings of the new headquarters are here.

The Boston Globe also reported that GE’s upcoming complex will house a waterfront dining spot that could have live music on Friday and Saturday nights.

Gay Men Camping group

Boston gay men campingI love Meetup.com, it is a great way to help people connect in a city like Boston where it can be hard to meet people with similar interests.  Although I am most definitely not a camper, Meetup.com had suggested this Gay Men’s group and I thought I’d share for all of you who like to commune with nature.

The group has a camping trip scheduled for later this month in Wompatuck State Park in Hingham, MA on Friday, August 26th. If you cannot make that date, be sure to like the group (see the link below) to get updates on future trips.

Gay Men Camping GayMenCamping.com

The group is described as “New England Gay Men Camping is a social outdoor adventure group for gay men only.  For all active gay male singles, couples and friends who appreciate nature, love hiking, enjoy backpacking, have a passion for exploring and can do without wi-fi and a blow dryer for a weekend. In some cases, no electricity or water. Can you handle it?”

While I don’t need a blow dryer, the idea of no electricity makes me queasy but I’m betting there are a few of you who may like this and want to check it out.

Meanwhile at M Street Beach this week

gays in southie, Kiki BeachLoving this Instagram clip from M Street Beach this past weekend. I couldn’t seem to post the video successfully so you can link here to see it.

In case you missed it, each Saturday a lot of guys are spending their Saturdays near the midpoint of M Street Beach. Between the throngs of bros and the women they are vainly trying to impress is a sea of gays that is most easily found by following the disco music.

Sound like fun? Read more about Saturdays at M Street Beach, Boston.
