While attending a work dinner in San Francisco, I had to go to the bathroom. I will admit I was more than a little surprised to see this sign. While I know exactly what they mean, I can’t help but think “shame on you.”
I was a bit dumbfounded and wondered does the manager think that this is the plural for the word man or have apostrophes become passé in California?
Tomorrow, Friday – June 19th, marks the return of Boston’s second annual Donna Summer outdoor Roller Disco at City Hall Plaza.
Friday, June 17th Boston hosts 3rd Donna Summer Roller Disco
More than 4,000 people come to this free annual outdoor party in Government Center. Skates are for rent, food is available for sale and of course there is some excellent music courtesy of DJ Kon. Check out these photos from last summer’s Memorial Roller Disco to Boston native, Donna Summer. #HotStuff
Fenway Health is looking for interested participants to join the AMP Study (Antibody Mediated Prevention). This is a national study that will enroll 2,700 men and transgender individuals who have sex with men. The concept behind the study is to give people antibodies to see if they will protect them from getting infected with HIV. This is the first study of its kind, testing whether antibodies can prevent HIV infections.
Qualified participants will be compensated up to $1800 for their time. Learn more about the AMP study by watching the video below or visiting the Fenway Health AMP Study page.
I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Do you have a photo you would like to share? Email me at bosguymail@gmail.com.
I disagree with the modern interpretation of the United States’ second amendment, and I’m painfully aware of how out of step I am with the majority of Americans on this issue. As much as the tragedy in Orlando breaks my heart (and it really does), something changed in how I view my country after the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre so while this tragedy infuriates me and I agree with the Daily News cover – I have come to expect so little from my country and even less from my politicians that all I have left are tears of shame.
In case you missed this in my blog post on Monday “What to do this week”, I wanted to remind you to head over to City Hall Plaza for an after work drink.
Today, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Mayor Marty Walsh will host “Beer Garden on the Bricks,” a summer kickoff, featuring a beer garden, food and entertainment. A selection of local craft beers will be on hand, including offerings from Slumbrew and Aeronaut. And Roxy’s Grilled Cheese and Double Chin will be serving up the food, along with some yet to be named vendors. For more information and details click, here.
I like to think of my blog as an important, educational site that can help you expand your vocabulary. Today’s vocabulary word is Daddy.
Daddy (ˈdadē/noun)
Definition: A typically older, financially established gay man.
Example: If you want to find yourself a daddy perhaps you should check out “Daddy Days” in Provincetown August 25 – 28th this year.
As is so often the case with important messages, those who need to read or hear them turn a blind eye or deaf ear. However, when DJ Michael tweeted out this photo today, I couldn’t resist piling on by sharing as well. I only hope that the understandable anger and frustration that has come out of Orlando tragedy will be directed into more positive actions that will help heal and bring hope.
Modus Vivendi has been on a tear lately, and their most recent Rainbow Line shot in Cuba was hard for me (and I’m assuming you as well) to overlook.
The new color blocking swimwear line is available in eight different color combinations that are made from fast drying, high quality material. The classic brief cuts have cleverly designed backs to accentuate the positive (so to speak).
Like what you see and want to place an order? Check out Modus Vivendi.
