Today the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) agreed to take on same-sex marriage issue and hopefully settle this once and for all. CNN reports that division in lower courts that manifested after Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky and Michigan – all in the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against the national trend and upheld gay marriage bans is what likely forced the hand of SCOTUS.
You can read the full report on CNN here. CNN also has a rather interesting article speculating on the impact this decision could have on the Republican Primary in a post here.
This week Virgin Hotels opened the doors to its first property in Chicago.

In case you happened to miss Mayor Walsh announcement earlier this week, the City of Boston is implementing new technology that will allow you to pay for parking without having to run out to feed parking meters if you have the new ParkBoston app.
Parts of the Back Bay will be the first to accept payments by phone with the rest of the city phased in over the coming months following this week’s launch. You can create an account if interested by downloading the app for free from the iPhone App Store and the Google Play Store or by visiting park.boston.gov.
Following last week’s news that local gal, Amy Poehler was named 2015 Woman of the Year award from Harvard University’s Hasty Pudding Theatricals. Yesterday, her hunky co-star, actor Chris Pratt, was named as Hasty Pudding’s 2015 Man of the Year.
The Man of the Year festivities will take place on Friday, February 6, 2015 and include a celebratory roast at Farkas Hall, the Hasty Pudding’s historic home in the heart of Harvard Square since 1888. A press conference will be held at 8:30 p.m., following the roast. Afterward, the Pudding will stage the opening night performance of its 167th production, ¡Oops!… Madrid It Again!
With nominations for the 2015 Oscars announced today, I wanted to write about an exhibit at the MFA Boston that opened this past fall and may be of interest to those of you attracted to Hollywood glamour.
The MFA exhibit “Hollywood Glamour: Fashion and Jewelry from the Silver Screen” presents designer gowns and exquisite jewelry from the 1930s and ‘40s. The exhibition focuses on the iconic style of Hollywood starlets from that period, including Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich and Joan Crawford to name a few. Enjoy a glimpse of Hollywood in the Golden Age of glamour. The MFA exhibit closes Sunday, March 8, 2015.

I stumbled upon this pairings guide and while I would always encourage individuals to pair whatever they like, I recognize that guides like this can be helpful for those who may not know where to start.
For those who live locally, I would strongly suggest visiting Formaggio and let them know what wine you are purchasing. They make excellent suggestions.

If money and time was not an issue, what one destination would you put on your “Must See” list for 2015? I often write about traveling but only get away from New England one or two times a year for pleasure.
There are so many places I would like to see that it would be tough to limit my answer to just one location. However, I’ve always wanted to visit Cape Town South Africa and I do regret not having visited New Zealand when Sergio and I went to Australia back in 2009 so those two destinations would rank high on my “Must See”. Where would you like to visit if you could go anywhere in the world and why?
