Especially, when everyone but you has the day off. Those Mondays really bite.

I would have no issue making religious institutions pay taxes the same as any other business and making all ‘donations’ to such institutions no longer tax deductible. If people want to support such organizations I have no issue with that but why such financial contributions should be tax deductible is a mystery to me.
Thirty year old Steve Langton is a Boston native who calls Melrose, MA home. When I saw him featured in a local publication, I immediately thought he’d make for a great man candy post. This 6’2 / 220+lbs Olympian started his bobsledding career in 2006 and was named Rookie of the Year by the US Bobsled and Skeleton Federation [USBSF] for the 2007/08 season. He finished in 10th place in the Vancouver Olympic Games. Best of luck to you Steve.

This is a good vegetarian option for the winter because it is so hearty. It takes one hour to make because there are a few steps but it is worth the effort. Ingredients include: 4-5 zucchini, 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, 1 cup of shredded Mozzarella, 1 cup of panko w/ spinach (use bread crumbs if you prefer) 8-10 oz of spinach, 14-16 oz of red sauce, 4-6 roasted garlic cloves, one roasted red bell pepper, 2 egg yolks, 1/2 of a sweet onion.
First, make a red sauce. I used a trusty jarred variety but I pureed and added 1/2 an onion, roasted red bell pepper and 4 roasted garlic cloves in a pan before adding the sauce for flavoring. The peppers will make the sauce sweet which is important. Let the sauce simmer for ~15 mins then prep the zucchini for breading.
The first plate includes two egg yolks and some water whisked lightly followed by a container with 1 cup of spinach flavored panko crumbs and half a cup of grated Parmesan cheese. After breading each zucchini strip place it on a foiled pan and put it in a preheated oven (at 350 degrees Farenheit) for 15 minutes.
While the breaded zucchini is in the oven, add the spinach with 2 crushed garlic cloves and a splash of white wine in a pan over medium heat and cover to wilt it. This will be layered onto the zucchini when you prep BosGuy’s Wicked Awesome Zucchini.
Add a ladle of red sauce to the bottom of a rectangular oven safe container. This will prevent the zucchini from sticking when you layer them (see below). After you place the first layer of zucchini, add the wilted spinach (remove the crushed garlic cloves) and ladle more sauce, sprinkle some Mozzarella.
Add a final layer of zucchini and add enough sauce and cheese to cover the vegetables entirely. Then cover with foil and place it in the oven at 350 degrees Farenheit for 20 minutes. When you take out the zucchini give it 10 minutes to cool then enjoy.

Yesterday, the traditionally conservative but trending progressive state of Virginia got a little more progressive when a Federal judge ruled that Virginia’s marriage ban is unconstitutional.
What a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift for the thousands of LGBT couples who call Virginia home. This was the second favorable ruling on marriage equality from a Southern state in as many days; a judge in Kentucky ruled on Wednesday that the Bluegrass state had to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states. The Virginia judge’s ruling follows similar decisions in Utah and Oklahoma federal courts.

Declining participation from both Boston restaurants and diners has forced the organizers of Boston Restaurant Week to do some soul searching to help breathe new life into the ailing biannual foodie event.
This year it has been rebranded as Dine Out Boston the new two week event that will run from March 16-21 and 23-28 is hoping to lure both restaurants and diners back with a tiered pricing structure that offers lunches for $15/$20/$25 and dinners for $28/$33/$38.
FYI – American Express will apparently offer a $5 credit on cardholder statements when they spend $21 or more on an enrolled American Express card at a participating restaurant, during Dine Out Boston. I couldn’t figure out how to enroll my card; neither Dine Out Boston nor American Express had any information. If you figure it out, let me know.
I took the free online Gay Cliques Test and came away with the following results: 44% Twink, 52% Bear, 68% Daddy, 39% Cub, 44% Otter, 50% Pup, 72% Muscle_Pup, 71% Wolf and 54% Gym_Bunny. I don’t really understand what any of that means; how can one be 44% Twink and 52% Bear – seems impossible. I broke down the quiz’s description of me according to how Gay Cliques interpreted my responses to the 2-minute quiz.
Oddly I’m labeled “The Muscle Pup” despite not having much muscle mass nor being of a “pup” like age. According to this fun, free and easy online quiz, I “have average height, hairiness, looks, and sex appeal.”
“Your best friends are Gym bunnies, and other Pups“, Um… not really although I do love bunnies and puppies. The quiz goes on to suggest that I am attracted to Twinks, Gym Bunnies, and Otters. All true I suppose as I like all sorts of men.
Curious and want to take this quiz: The Gay Cliques Test
