I’m no expert on religion, but this does seem more in line with the teachings of Christ. What an inconvenient truth for so many Americans.

CAMBRIDGE, MA – FEBRUARY 7: The Hasty Pudding Theatricals honor Neil Patrick Harris as the 2014 Man of the Year at Farkas Hall on Friday, February 7, 2014 in Cambridge, MA (Photo by Gail Oskin / Getty Images for the Hasty Pudding Institute)
I previously wrote about how Neil Patrick Harris was named the Hasty Pudding Theatricals 2014 Man of the Year. Yesterday NPH came to Harvard to collect his award and as you can see he looked quite dapper.

However, as the ceremonies started, the ribbing and jesting began and of course, it wouldn’t be the Hasty Pudding if there wasn’t any cross-dressing and kissing. Do you think David Burtka was jealous; I doubt it. Here is a quick overview of all the fun in Cambridge courtesy of Reuters.

CNN is reporting that US Attorney General Eric Holder says he is set to extend the federal government’s recognition of same-sex marriages even in the 34 states that don’t consider it legal.
Eric Holder is expected to deliver this message tonight in NYC at the Human Rights Campaign gala dinner. I love the timing of this which happens to coincide with the Olympic Games and just a week before Valentine’s Day. I wonder how many more marriage proposals will be made this coming Friday? The NYT has more information about this here.
And that my friends is why I look beyond mere pocket book issues and often times vote against my own economic interests, because if you think for one minute a Romney Administration would make such a move, I have a bridge I’d like to sell you.
I’m left handed. As a matter of fact, I am sooo left handed that when I was much younger and learning to play baseball I use to catch and throw with my left hand; until I was made to throw with my right hand which is why I think to this day my aim stinks and the safest object is the one I’m aiming at… but I digress.
Watch this interesting video and let me know what the result was. Are you more left brained, more left brained, or evenly divided?

Next weekend the Cupid Undie Run will take place for the first time here in Boston. The 1-mile charitable run hosted in 28 cities raises money for The Children’s Tumor Foundation.
Organizers are hoping 1,000 Bostonians are crazy enough to run through the streets of Boston next Saturday. Despite the brutal winter, I think organizers will find no shortage of people only too eager to run around the city in their underwear no matter the temperature.
For more information about how to register and to learn more about Boston’s newest fundraising run, visit www.cupidsundierun.com.
Just in case you can’t read the chicken scratch from the screen shot, I wanted to share what Google has posted on their home page. My guess is that Russia’s Federal Law #135 prohibits the rainbow display and disclaimer but I’m curious if the same message is on Google’s page in Russia. In the US it reads:
“The practice of sport is a human right. Every individual must have the possibility of practicing sport, without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play.” –Olympic Charter
On the eve of the 2012 Summer Olympics one of the world’s largest gay apps, Grindr, crashed for users in East London. It was rumored that Grindr’s servers were overloaded by all the athletes and tourists who had descended upon London to watch the games. True or not it was definitely funny to read about.
Clearly Sochi is no London. Earlier this week Towleroad reported on how a popular gay dating app in Russia called Hunters was hacked.
People who logged on were greeted by this anonymous threat which reads, “You will be arrested and jailed for gay propaganda in Sochi according to Russian Federal Law #135 Sektion 6“.
Hackers completely destroyed the profiles and messages of some 72,000 users. On the Feb. 2nd, just a few days before the opening of the Olympic Games, users trying to open this gay app in Sochi were greeted with an alert saying that their profile was blocked for the next 55,000 minutes (38 days). You may read the full post on Towleroad here.
Pizza may be my absolute favorite food; perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A lot of people will dis Boston pizzerias in favor of pizza shops elsewhere, but I’ve found a number of places I really like. One of my absolute favorites is the North End pizzeria, Ernesto’s.
The pizza pie crust is flavorful but not too thick and I love their sauce. My only beef with Ernesto’s is that they don’t deliver, but that doesn’t stop me from picking up a pizza every couple of months. The large 18″ green pepper and onion pizza is $18 and change; and worth every penny. Give Ernesto’s a try if you live nearby or happen to be in the North End.

The 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics start tonight and while I’ve already written a handful of posts expressing my frustration with the IOC’s actions, I fully intend to watch the Olympics.
In a perverse twist of fate, Russia’s spree of homophobic legislation and Putin’s remarks defending them has made the LGBT calls for greater equality abroad a topic of conversation in a way that it may never have been if the games had been held elsewhere, and I hope the scrutiny post-games shall not subside.
