How BosGuy got his fitness groove back

absIt has been a looooooong time since I’ve talked about the gym.  I can assure you that I’ve been going but not with the regularity or passion that I normally do.  I blame it on that Polar Vortex crap.

However this past week I’ve been able to get my fitness groove back.  I’m hoping that I can maintain that commitment since February is Boston’s second cruelest month (sorry January, but I’m not a fan).  For those of you suffering a severe case of winter doldrums, take heart that the days are getting longer and with any luck, warmer too so get to the gym.

More public art coming to Boston’s Greenway

Boston Greenway Public ArtJesse Brackenbury, the next leader of Boston’s Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway, said last week that he wants to significantly increase the presence of public art and other new features in the downtown park network. My response, “Most excellent. Let’s do it.”

The quote and image atop this post is from the Rose Kennedy Greenway’s Public Art on the Greenway: A Five Year Strategy 2013-2017.   The Greenway’s vision for this work (according to their website) is to bring innovative and contemporary art to Boston through free, temporary exhibitions on the Greenway that engage people in meaningful experiences, interactions and dialogue with art and each other.  I won’t wax on about the potential here – I’ll keep my trap shut (for now). Want to learn more about this? Scotland says “I do” to marriage equality

scotland marriage equalityScotland’s first same-sex marriages are set to take place later this year after the Scottish parliament voted to pass the Marriage and Civil Partnership (Scotland) Bill by a margin of 105-18 earlier today.

Let’s face it men in kilts are sexy and when you have two men in kilts it is twice as sexy so it looks like marriage just got a whole lot more sexy.  Apparently, Timberlake isn’t the only one bringing sexy back. More information about Scotland’s landmark vote here.

TWC Hasty Pudding Theater take over

Friday, February 21st at 8PM

The Welcoming Committee has arranged a take over of the Hasty Pudding Theater near Harvard Square and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to check out this program with tickets only $35 (while they last).  I’ve never been to see a production from this hallowed theatrical group.  Care to join Sergio and Me as we crash The Welcoming Committee Take Over?  More details about the production and buy your ticket(s) here.

A few details about the evening:

+ Showtime is 8pm at The Hasty Pudding Theater (Farkas Hall, 12 Holyoke St., Cambridge) near Harvard Square.

+ Tickets are general seating so you can sit with friends but if you’re on your own let me know and we can watch it together.

+ You may pick up your ticket at the box office.
